Why Is My Child Not Speak Words As Earlier?

hello doctor...my daughtar has turned 2 last week. she is not talking. she hardly tells any word but just produces some vague sounds. sometimes I see her talking to herself while playing in her own baby language. When she was one year and plus she used to say a few words but now hardly says mamma-daddy. well she is a very atheletic baby...very active throughout the day and she talks to me mostly by pointing things she need or through gestures. I have no idea what should I do now. Should I wait or consult any speech therapist. She was born in Australia but after one year of her age we moved to Hongkong.

If children do not start talking around the age of one, they should be taken to consultation with a pediatrician. Upon analyzing, he shall give you further course of action. Now you should immediately take your child to a pediatrician and check for any developmental disorders like autism. Then pediatrician shall advice you further.
