Why Is Qlaira Causing Water Retention Problems?

Dr. I have been on Depo Provera for 4 years - had a discharge from my breasts, was tested and not malignant actually not dangerous, but don t want to take the risk of having breast cancers etc. I have also had a problem with my bone density and went to see a doctor. He put me on Qlaira I am on day 27 now.. ever since I started using it, I had water retention... had a lot of bad things like heart palpitations etc. still not able to wear my jewelry - what should I do?

Hi

Water and salt retention can cause weight gain ,even increased blood pressure.Weight gain is a known side effect of high dose combined contraceptive pills.Lower dose contraceptive pills can be used to avoid some of the side effects.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.

Regards
