Hello, was out with my eight month old boy on my way to the store and as we stepped into the sunlight he would try to hide his face , rubbing his eyes, skwinting and almost crying. As we entered the store, he stopped fussing and was alright until we had to get back into the sun again. He doesn t get out much anyway but I want to know if there is something to attend to? Thanks
Hello
Nothing to worry at all.
Your child is absolutely fine.
That happened because of the bright sun light to which the child is not used to ,as he will be spending most of his time at home like other children of his age.so dont take him for long time into sun at once.
get him out for few minutes daily in the beginning and then for long time.
Thank you.
If your child is having problems in sunlight on a "regular" basis. It will be best to consult an ophthalmologist for opinion. Refractive errors, squints, cataracts, retinal dystrophies etc are few condition that can be linked with such symptoms. Please consult in case the symptoms are seen on regular basis. Take care
