Why Does My Urine Have A Metallic Smell?

For the past couple of days my urine has had a metallic smell. My urine isn t an odd or dark color and I don t have any burning while using the restroom. The only medication I am taking is adipex but I have been taking that for almost 3 months. Being on a diet I pretty much eat the same thing everyday for breakfast and lunch so I can t figure out what may be causing this. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

In most cases this is indicating certain diet, usually high protein diet or dehydrations. And if this is ruled out then it may be sign of urinary infectio, STD or some kidneys and methabolic disorders so you should do extensive work up if your symptoms persist.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
