HI ,
THIS IS DR.KAVITHA.I WOULD LIKE TO HELP YOU .ALTHOUGH POST EXERCISE HAEMATURIA IS A DOCUMENTED PHENOMENON ,YOU MUST GET A IVP (INTRAVENOUS PYELOGRAM )DONE TO RULE OUT ANY CALCULI/DIVERTICULAE IN THE URINARY TRACT AFTER DOING A BLOOD UREA AND CREATININE LEVEL.IF THE BLOOD IN URINE PERSISTS 72 HOURS AFTER RESTING THEN IT SHOULD BE MORE SERIOUSLY INVESTIGATED ....ULTRASOUNDS ARE NOT VERY ACCURATE IN UROLOGICAL CASES. HE MAY ALSO NEED TO GET A COAGULATION PROFILE DONE SIMULTANEOUSLY.A QUALIFIED UROLOGIST MAY HELP YOU IN SOLVIN THESE PROBLEMS.PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR SON ...BYE

Exercise is the one of the many causes of hematuria Exercise-induced hematuria can be defined as gross or microscopic hematuria that occurs after strenuous exercise and resolves with rest in individuals with no apparent underlying urinary tract pathology or renal disease. Its exact causes are unclear, but possibilities include lack of sufficient fluids, trauma to the bladder, or the breakdown of red blood cells that happens if you participate in sustained aerobic exercise.
I would advise your child to keep himself well hydrated with plenty of fluids during strenuous exercise.Generally exercise induced hematuria disappears after 48 to 72 hours. Other causes to be considered are bladder or urinary tract infections or renal disease. Exercise may worsen hematuria in patients with underlying glomerular disease, such as IgA nephropathy.

hi welcome to hcm.see blood in urine which is called hematuria which are of two type microscopic and gross which is seen by eyes.causes bladder or kidney infection
kidney stone
infection of urethra
trauma
vigorus exercise
kidney disease
as his urine test or sonography normal means there is no stone or kidney disease.as per your history may be due to truma or vigorus activity.
treatment plan:
give him low sodium diet
avoid given him ca supplement
increase amount of potassium in fresh fruit and veg
avoid sweet potatoes choclate, spinach, nuts, any citrus juice
if bleeding not relive after that then concern any urologist for that.
thanks
