Why Does My Anus Pain While Passing Stools?

Hi Doc, I have a problem at my anus region. I can see/feel that at the exit, there is some bulge and when I go for Poo (excreta) its pains a lot. Not sure what the problem is, can you please suggest to which Doctor should I go? I am from hyderabad. Thanks

Hi there,

The most common complaint of the symptoms you are having is hemorrhoids. This is usually a bulge as you are describing in the anal region and can be quite tender sometimes. The cause is due to straining from hard stools. I would make sure that your stools are very soft and use laxatives as necessary. Drink plenty of water. Any general practice doctor should be able to diagnose this, but the treatment is usually to avoid straining and getting your stools soft.
