Low blood pressure is often considered by doctors to be genetic in nature. I have low blood pressure, so did my Mother. Low blood pressure is considered better to have than high blood pressure, but it can often cause you to feel colder than other people, particularly in your hands during winter months because lower blood pressure pumps blood less forcefully to the extremities like the fingers and feet. The plus side is that low pressure also pumps blood less forcefully through the heart valves, which causes less stress on the heart muscles, often reducing the risks of heart attack.
