Hi, My Dad had a quadrupal heart bypass about 10 years ago and has been in good health since apart from some age related memory loss. He has recently in the past few days complained of not being hungry and feeling a bit unwell. When questioned, he says he doesn t feel sick, isn t constipated or have diarrhea, doesn t have heartburn (ie refux) and generally he can t explain why he isn t hungry and doesn t feel great. I am wondering if i should be concerned about whether this could be heart related or whether he may just have some sort of tummy upset that isn t materialising into obvious symptoms? He has complained in the last couple of weeks of feeling a bit hot and has looked a bit flushed but this ahs been intermittent. Could you advise me of what I should do for him please? Many Thanks Trish

I just took my blood pressure a few minutes ago. It was 95/65, with my heart rate being 90. I take two blood pressure meds. I have lost about 23 lbs. since January, on a low carb diet. Is it possible that the blood pressure meds are too much for me now? I also have mitral valve regurgitation, and see my cardiologist twice a year. I also started doing water aerobics three times a week, since January. I just want to make sure that this isn t too low now. Is this something I should be concerned about or is this okay?

Doctor, I am Anisha,26 years old, height 169 cm, weight 65kg. Working as Software professional in Bangalore. I had undergone PDA surgery when I was 3 yrs old. I got married 6 months back and got pregnant in last June. During the routine check up for the pregnancy, it was found that, I have SEVERE AS and MILD AR. And doctor advised me to terminate the pregnancy and prescribed immediate Aortic valve replacement surgery. After this, we consulted another doctor and he also came to the same conclusion. We did MTP on June 11th, and after this I got normal periods on July 9th. My next appointment with the cardiologist is on 19th August. Based on the ECHO and ECG, they said, we can fix the date of operation. Doctor has opted, BIO-PROSTHETIC AORTIC VALVE REPLACEMENT. In the last two months, our life was much changed by hearing all this. Abortion and operation, tension, grief everything. I would like to know Doctor, I donĂ¢??t have faced any problem in walking or climbing steps, cycling or anything. I was leading a normal life. After this operation, would we be having any problem with conceiving again? Please take this as my request and please let me know will this operation cause any problem in having children and leading a normal life.
