Why Do I Feel Sick After Laying Down Or Sleeping?

I have been having problems with sleeping or laying down. when I lay down for about an hour I get a feeling of illness through my body. It feels like my heart is under strain, and I often lose feeling to some parts of my body. I feel weak as well. It is a slightly different feeling when I turn and lay on the other side of my body, but still a feeling of illness and light headedness. I feel like Im going to die. I have been going to my doctor but she is now away on vacation. they did lots of blood work on me. all of my electrolites were normal, so was thyroid, vitamin D level was low. my doctor prescribed me ativan for anti anxiety. I have not taken it yet because I feel there is some underlying cause. Im 22 years old, and am fit, I dont drink or smoke, and I do not do drugs. I have been eating especialy well since this started a month and a half ago. Ive been to a chiropractor who has tested my sensory(normal). Although he did say my oxygen saturation was low at 85%. These feelings sometimes happen during the day and are getting worse as time goes by. night is especially brutal and im losing alot of sleep. please help:(

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

I must say though that I agree with your doctor that the symptoms are due to anxiety. He seems to have done the necessary blood tests to exclude metabolic causes and the symptoms are not indicative of any brain lesion.
I do not agree with the Attivan prescription, attivan may be used only for short time, say a couple of weeks, but no longer as it leads to tolerance and dependence. First step in my opinion should be psychotherapy in order to identify anxiety provoking thinking patterns and relaxation exercises before going to bed. Even if medication becomes necessary I would prefer a sedating antidepressive like say amitriptilyn.
You should also speak to your doctor about that 85% saturation level although, although I am a little doubtful about that, it is too low, should have other breathing symptoms.

I hope to have been of help.
