Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 30 year old female, and I have been anRN for over 10 years. But I just can t seem to figure out what is wrong with me. So I just started a new job where I drive ALOT more than I ever had on a daily basis. A week ago I noticed my right ankle was swollen, I didn t think much of it but now both of my ankles/ feet are edematous + 4 pitting edema. No s/s that points to DVTs, or any contact dermatitis . I do take adderal 60 mg per day but I have been on that for years. I don t eat a lot, never have but definitely not a lot of sodium . Other tha ADD I have no other medical hx except constipation ( chronic ) Any ideas?
Thanks for writing to us.
Long hours of travelling is often asociated with a pitting edema of feet. Still to rule out any organic cause, it is best to get your renal and cardiac functions evaluated.
You can elevate your legs on two pillows while resting and see if the edema subsides cmpletely till the mornng.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
