Why Do I Have Low Platelets? What Does The Bone Marrow Test Reveal?

Hi Doctor, I am 30 years old (male) from India and having low platelets (around 70k - 80k) from last few years. Had got complete check up with hematologist (including bone marrow test). However, the expert suggested that its fine for individuals to have low platelets count and live a normal life. Also, no medicines or change in food was suggested...Is it fine...please confirm....Thanks in advance. Jayesh Jain

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi
A haematologist has already looked into it - he must have done appropriate investigations... both qualitative and quantitative analysis. A lower limit of 50K is approved by some specialists.
In the absence of any cause or complication, he has rightly considered a normal variant and suggested no drugs. Keep following up with him for future needs, if any
There is no special diet - some times, mustard oil is alleged. Avoid...
Good luck
