Why do I have extreme groin & medial thigh pain two weeks after a gluteal IM injection of progesterone? Did my husband give the shot in the wrong place? It feels like the entire groin & inner thigh are tight & painful to touch making walking or sitting very painful.

I cannot say in your particular case, but generally, pain, swelling especially if there is warmth and redness or fever can be an internal infection or internal bruise or internal collection of infection all of which are quite serious problems.
