when i eat a meal a lot of times i fall asleep like drugged. can you help me? About 5 years ago in the aftermoon while working in call center i would become tired and fall asleep while talking to a person on the phone and that was just scarry. About 6 months ago did not get much sleep at night and in afternoon i fell asleep at wheel hit some trees, tore off mirror and tail light and scratched side of truck. I finished my work at my farm chores caring for cows and horses, took truck to repair shop and scared my husband so bad he drove me everywhere for 6 months. I drive only when i feel up to it. Dear from your narration there are two possibilities. One is sleep disorder in which you are not getting enough sleep in the night and secondary more sleep required in daytime which make you sleep.
Other thing might be narcolepsy, in which sudden attack of sleep.Normally person passes through sleep stages of sleep 1,2,3,4 and reaches stage 2 after 15-25 minutes average. But in narcolepsy this time is reduces called early sleep latency , so person reaches into deep sleep suddenly.Consult doctor. Sleep EEG may needed.Thanks.
