Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
rotator cuff tear is a bad injuries and if your cuff condition is not good then you will have some difficulty in lifting your arm above your shoulder. My advice to you is now you focus on physiotherapy. After you will get strength in your shoulder muscles you will be able to use your shoulder. Do not think that you will be like a handicapped person. Rather you would be very near to good function.
