It can cause chronic chest pain on deep breathing, coughing, sneezing etc. So get done chest x ray to rule out other causes of pleurisy like lung infection, pleural effusion. If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for lung infection or effusion. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest.
