Why am I lightheaded dizzy after eating?

Why am I lightheaded dizzy after eating but I checked mu sugar it's 142 one hr after and 77 two hrs. after? I am anemic too but has been taking iron supplements since May 21, 2006. I was diagnosed with diabetes last month with 138 fasting and 164 glucose tolerance test. Doctor did not give me meds. I did walking at least one hour every day since I was diagnosed. My doctor said maybe my body is still adjusting because of the iron supplements I am taking and that my body was used to having low red blood cells. I also lost 20 lbs since I was diagnosed with diabetes. I lost weight because I was walking and watching what I am eating.

Your sugars are under control. Do mention the medications which you are on as there is a lot of difference in the readings taken after 1 hour and 2 hours.

Dear Manasi

You are anemic whats recent blood HB level. You are feeling dizzy after intake of food because of anemia. the reason is after food majority of blood shunts to GI(stomach and intestine) tract to carry digested food. As you are anemic less there is less blood in circulation, available blood goes to your stomach and less blood goes to your brain and you will feel dizzy,\.
my advise is

1. Get evaluated for low Hb..
2. find out is there loss of blood through stools
3. Consult physician and find out cause for anemia and get treated
4. Iron supplements will not be sufficient if there is very low Hb level at this condition better to go for blood transfusion
5. consult your family physician

Another thing is
1.Dont eat heavy meals at a time instead eat small meals more frequently.
2.Avoid walk immediately after food better you take rest after meals

best of luck

I eat a lot of salty foods because I work 2 jobs and go to college. I have been trying to cut back, eating more fruits/vegs, and drink more water. However, I go through periods of heavy fast food eating, Recently I have been getting light-headed after eating fast food. I have decided to stop as of today and start planning-out my food at the beginning of each week. However, why am I light-headed? Should I go to the doc? Thanks

I took a paracetamol overdose a week ago today. I was taken to hospital last thursday. They took a blood tests came back boderline. They then found it positive for asprin aswell. But spent 4 hours arguing over whether I needed treatment. In the end they decided tk do another blood test to see if the levels had gone down and it my blood was clotting but whilst waiting for those results they began the drip. I had a hour and about 20mins before the bloods came back saying I could go home. Ever since then I have been getting lightheaded and dizzy often. Tired quickly and moods and emotions unstable. Hi, I am 56, average weight (57kg), 169cm tall. Lately I had several occasions where after drinking green tea or water I develop belching and severe dull pain in my left kidney area, sometimes lasting for 2 days. Often it is when I twist my torso or do anything just after drinking. It is not indigestion - it is usually on empty stomach. Could it be something with my kidneys or pancreas? I am taking pancreatin for digestive problems. I also have sliding hernia and a host of other problems, but this is a new one.

My husband has a uniformed rash on his back. No raised welts or pimples. He says there's no itching or burning but I'm afraid it may have something to do with his pancreatitis which he was diagnosed with 4 years ago. His doctor said he has a neucrotic pancreas.
