Why Am I Experiencing Heavy Bleeding After Copper T Is Inserted?

i am experiencing heavy bleeding with my copper t i put in for 1yr and 1 mth and before my period i experience mild bleeding before say like my period has to come within the next week with alot of abdominal pain back ache and feeling sleepy. my weight is 131lb height 167 i suffer wth asthma

Hi,

Usually following IUD insertion one can experience symptoms like cramping, on and off bleeding, abdominal pain, headache, back pain, etc,. These symptoms will settle within 6 months of Copper T insertion. In your case, bleeding after a year might be a complication sometimes, which needs removal of the device if the bleeding is severe. I advise you to consult your gynecologist for a USG pelvis in order to locate any pathology & also for further assistance.
