Whom To Consult When Diagnosed With AMPS?

my 15 year old daughter has been diagnosed with AMPS. Her pain is in one small spot in her neck, everything we have read and even the pain specialist at Boston Childerens have said they have never seen an AMPS case that was not in an extremity. What is your take on this ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Based on what you are reporting, my opinion is as following:
- your daughter is still young 15 years old, she is still under development. Sometimes, muscles can get over-stretched in response to bones growth causing that type of pain

- plus she might be using ipads, or cellphones or other electronic stuffs and perhaps would get bad positioning while using them. This might cause tenderness of the muscles and causing that pain on that particular spot in her neck.

To me, first, should consult with orthopedic doctor to evaluate her case and see if there is anything wrong with her muscular-skeletal system.

Then, physiotherapy, applying warm pads, and analgesic cream locally can help.

Wish fast recovery.
