Bad question. 1) There is no carotid vein. 2) Angioplasty is done inside the vessels, no cutting 3) Athrectomy is the removal of plaque from an artery. 4) Embolectomy is the removal of an embolus. 5) Phlebotomy usually refers to blood drawing (using needles)

My husband just received a call about his ct lung scan. We were told they see a soft tissue prominence on the left lung. Does prominence now mean a mass in the medical world? His Dr. will be calling us back on Friday for more in-depth discussion. He has constant cough, constant cold symptoms. We started doctoring thinking it was his heart, but it looked good. Some back/chest pain, some swallowing issues.

Hi! I have a 3 year old daughter who is showing signs of ADHD such as she repeats people, has prolonged fits over 30 mins, can t sit still eating, watching tv etc. Doesn t follow directions and is always super hyper. She hates candy so i know its not that. She does have a doctors appointment set up. I was not concerned because I assumed it was her only being 3 but then her teacher at her private home day care noticed and pulled me aside to talk.

Left leg the discolouring goes 20% around, the right leg the discolouring goes all the way around the leg. The skin is very thin and shiney. My legs fill up with water and I need to take strong diuretics on occasion to empty my legs I have had varicose vein operation on both legs about 15 years ago. I am over weight and dont exercise much as I have severe back pains due to a fall many years ago. Any thoughts?

I have been having sclerotherapy treatments for my varicose veins. After 4 treatments they are not having the desired. Effect -they are not working. I have been told that horsechestnut may help. The only meds I am currently taking are one omega 3 tablet, a vitamin d and multivitamin daily. Is horsechestnut a good alternative, and would it interact with my daily meds, as outlined above?

I am a registered nurse who's husband had bilateral inguinal herniorrhaphies through lap surgery in 2/10. He has had ED for a few years and has been using Levitra. Since the surgery he can no longer ejaculate. He is 67 years old and we have always had a good sex life. He has been checked for PAD and is negative for that. He developed multiple PE's 2 weeks post-op and was extensively tested by a vascular surgeon, oncologist, endocrinologist for underlying disease and thankfully nothing came back as a serious problem. The surgeon, with whom I worked with in the OR said, "I did 2000 lap repairs and my husband is the second pt. to develop PE's. He is sexually frustrated and his urologist doesn't seem to have any answers. Any advice would be welcomed. Carol
