White Spot On Skin That Itches. What Can It Be?

I have a white spot on my skin, and it is very itchy. It looks like a spot of white out dabbed on my skin. At first, I thought it was something transferred onto my skin from something I had just been handling but I tried to scrub it off and realized it was my skin. I did not notice it until the spot became extremely itchy. When I looked down to scratch it, I noticed the spot.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that probably you may be having tinea versicolor.
It is superficial fungal infection .
It is caused by melassezia furfur.
It is harmless condition remains unchanged if not treated.
The yeast remains on scalp.
And disease spreads gradually from face to chest, abdomen, arms and back.
The treatment is perfect and simple.
However, for firm diagnosis you should consult dermatologist .
Antifungal tablets, cream and shampoo containing ketoconazole might improve the disease.

The given answer might be helpful to you.
Thanks.
