Hi,
there is a probability that it could be an STD. A n good clinical examination is my advise. This shall permits tests to be run to detect the actual causative agent and evaluate the extent of the condition which you might either under estimate or over estimate. Depending o the results, your gynecologist would decide on you advising your partner to have a consultation if necessary. While waiting, it would be advisable to have protected sex if any, until you get through a proper consultation and treatment.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
