Which Specialist Doctor Should Be Consulted For Diagnosis Of Schizophrenia?
I have a brother who has a Schizophrenia and am suspicious of my son having symptoms of Schizophrenia. He is a very smart boy, his Math teacher says that he is very very smart. When he was in elementary school he was tested for IQ test and was above normal 140 sth the score. At first I thought that he just had way of thinking different from others.....but then I realized that sometimes he was talking to himself as he was talking with someone real because I heard him talking but he was just by himself noone else there. And also he likes to laugh by himself. As I discussed this matter with my other brother, he noticed those behavior of his nephew. My questions is whom should I seek help first, his pedetricians, general doctor, or go straight to psychiatrist? I appreciate your reply.

As per your description your son may have symptoms of schizophrenia. For that, you have to consult straight to the psychiatrist as early as possible.
