Which Medicine Is Preferable For Cough, Cold And Fever?
My 11 yr old daughter has been sick since Sat. First a 101 temp with cough then it seemed to go away by Monday. Tuesday, her temp was back with lots of coughing and sneezing. She only wants to eat cold food. today she said her mouth was sore. I thought maybe she was getting her molars. I looked in her mouth and her gums beh ind her molars on the bottom were very puffy. Almost like pillows. Don t know how else to describe it. I plan to take her to the doctor but found your website tonight. Thoughts?
Hello The eruption of molar produces fever in few patients ,but in your daughter case as you mentioned that there is fever with cough and sneezing . In my opinion your daughter have allergic bronchitis . As she first got allergy with super added infection , that's why there is sneezing , cough , fever and she is very craving for cold things ( because of high temperature ) . When such type of patient visit to me I prescribe them LEVOFLOXACIN syrup ( 12 mg / kg body weight ) once in day . I also prescribe paracetamol syrup 10 mg / kg in two divided dosage . You can give cold thing but without ice . Dextromethorphan lonzges for local use for throat infection and soothing . These are prescription drugs so consult a physician and get his opinion. Good luck.
