Which Eye Drops Contain Polymer?
hi I had an awful allergic reaction to the eye drops prescribed for pink eye a while back. The dr, said probably the polymer in it. I got that cleared up but my eyes will sometimes burn and itch . I was wondering what else contains polymer or would cause this.

A polymer is used to dissolve fat soluble drugs, such as dexamethasone, in aqueous solutions. The polymer further increases the solubility and increases drug permeability through biologic membranes.
So it is a component of artificial tears and many of the eye drops containing fat soluble medicines.
Before you buy the eye drops, it is good to check with the pharmacist to know whether it contains a polymer.
