Hi there,

Is your baby teething? Sometimes that can be associated with mild fever. 99 degress temperature is low grade fever. Continue to breast feed the baby.Give him clean drinking water to drink. Do tepid sponging for the baby in the armpits, forehead etc. Continue crocin according to your doctor's advice . However if the fever is persisting , or if more than 100 or 101, fast breathing, grunting sounds, excessive crying, lethargic/ drowsy, please visit the paediatrician IMMEDIATELY..

There is no need for meftagesic / azithral at this stage.

Hope your baby gets well soon :)

Meftagesic syrup is a combination of paracetamol & mefenamic acid. both drugs are NSAID group and reduce body premature via its antipyretic effect. both of these is very safe in pediatric age group. that's why you can give your baby this medicine in a dose of 3.5 ml thrice daily. You can give azithral in a dose of 10 mg per body weight. if azithral is 100 mg per 5 ml & weight of your baby is 7 kg then dose will be 3.5 ml once daily for three days.

Hai, Don't try to treat everything yourself from your home remedies. Fever may be due to many reasons. Respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, seasonal viral fevers, Typhoid, Malaria, Pneumonia etc. Crocin or any paracetamol syrup may be given as a first aid. That too, 6-8 ml for a 7 month old baby is too much. Always get consulted your doctor and go by his guidance. Otherwise you may end up in adverse drug reactions and complication due to infections. Especially infants are very tender and became very sick within few hours or few days.Azithromycin is not the universal antibiotic. Different infections need different type of antibiotics. So get consulted your physician if your crocin not worked out after 2-3 times. Get well soon with your child. Dr SM
