hi,
you might be suffering with scalp internal infection or inflammation (swelling).suggesting you to consult the doctor /dermatologist for investigation, first of all we have to trace the disease, than take a proper treatment. you can also move for Homeopathic treatment.

NO, suppose you have any infection/inflammation that must be treated in a proper way, you can use homeopathic "Arnica hair oil & Jaborandi hair oil " uses daily on alternate basis, for hair loss
Dermatologist Dr. Gaurav Patel's  Response
hi
no cream u have will be useful
u have infection over scalp
apply only antibiotic cream till u consult doctor,
u can take analgesic and antibiotic tab if u have.
pain killer cream or balm will increase ur problem,so dont apply them
use ur separate comb and towel
dont touch or scratch the lesion

Hi,Rachel, thanks for your query.Routine analgesic cream can not be applied on the scalp. You may have more problems if the skin there is broken. The best thing to do is visit a doctor any get diagnosis first. In mean time you can apply any oil,non medicated one to soothe the skin and have relief from pain. You can take any analgesic tablet you are comfortable with so that you become comfortable and if any swelling is there it will also reduces.bye.

Hi, I have dry painful spots on my scalp. It started with two painful spots, they have slightly grown and I applied heat to them with a wet warm clean towel. This helped with the pain but then the larger spot started leaking a clear fluid which smells weird. Is it infected? It s been slowly leaking for three days now and I can t get it checked for another week. I ve been using t-gel shampoo which seems to be helping with the dry skin scabs but not with the larger spot with the fluid coming out. Also, I have been applying Savlon to it, which helps with the pain but doesn t stop the fluid from coming out. What can I do to get rid of the pus and to dry it up? Is this eczema or psoriasis? I can t sleep properly since the last few days because this is at the back of my scalp so I can t lay down properly. It made my lymph node in my neck swell up but that s going down now. It feels like it s all getting a bit better but there s still pain, and I just really need to dry up this fluid and stop the pus from coming out. Please tell me what I can do to help? And what s wrong? Thank you so much.

Good evening, I have been to two different dermatologists approximately 7 times for what is a very irritated area on my scalp (right side, crown). It stays itchy most of the time and can appear scaly, but then progresses to red, blistery, and extremely painful (knife-like constant pain). At first there was staph present, and then that progressed to MRSA, but after treated, and the problems continued, I had a biopsy, at which time I was diagnosed with chronic itch and scratch. No dermatologist has ever seen my scalp during the worst of the flare-ups because it takes a week or two to get in, by which time the worst is over. I have tried every vitamin regimen for skin/scalp, every shampoo for dry scalp (antifungal, antibiotic, Hibiclens, etc), and the only thing that helps at all during the worst of everything is tea tree shampoos/conditioners. Recently I also made a trip to the infectious disease clinic because of the MRSA, and he, too, indicated that I simply am very dry, which starts the problem in its entirety. He recommended I apply aquaphor to the affected area on my scalp, which I did not do after the day he put it on, because it took days to wash out. That said, I do have thick, curly, dry hair (I am not ethnic, and my hair is not brittle...just curly and on the dry side), so I suppose the aquaphor hides well, but I just didn t feel like that could possibly prevent what I m currently experiencing. Have you heard of anything like this? I do not believe it to be psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis after much research, nor does it present like folliculitis. We do have a family history of keratosis pilaris (which I do have, even still now as a 34 year old mother of 4), and I do have a history of eczema, but only during the really dry parts of winter, and it presents itself as circular patches resembling ring worm (my pediatrician as a child misdiagnosed it as ring worm, in fact). Since visiting with the infectious disease doctor, I have started using Head & Shoulders for dry scalp daily, again, and I also started using CeraVe cream, which has been a huge blessing to my keratosis pilaris and ultra dry, cracked heals. But I sit here with my scalp on fire as I type. Thank you kindly for your time; it is greatly appreciated!

I have had periodic pain on my scalp when my hair is in a pony tail after a couple of hours, off and on for about two years. My hair and scalp also does this when my hair has not been up. My hair is drier than it used to be and I only shampoo every other day. Why does my scalp hurt like this and why is my hair so dry?
