Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
As
enterobacter aerogenes can cause
sepsis and severe bloodborne infection if it spreads throughout the body, I do recommend following the antibiotic treatment prescribed by your doctor. Even if you just conceived, none of the medications will have any impact because it is still too early to have a developing fetus if you have not yet missed you period.
This type of bacteria is also frequently resistant to conventional antibiotics, so it is important to take the one prescribed by your doctor, especially if he/she has the sensitivities checked by the laboratory. Having this bacteria in your vagina can have serious consequences for your
pregnancy if the infection is not treated effectively. So the risks from the infection are much higher than the risk of taking the medication during early pregnancy.
So in summary, please follow your doctor's advice and take the recommended antibiotic. If you are not even late for your period, there is nothing to worry if you just conceived.
I hope this answer was helpful and best wishes,
Dr. Brown
