Hi, My dad has been diagnosed with angle closure glaucoma and cataracts however he is only 44. I know that the type of glaucoma and eye problems that he has are rare but he also suffers with an excruciating intermissant pain in his right eye, that he usually gets in the early hours of the morning (waking him up) and in the day sometimes as well. Although, of more recent times, the pain has been happening more regularly in the day. The left eye also gets the same pain, but not as much as the right. I m writing this message because it has been going on for the last 15 years and he is still yet to be diagnosed properly. I wanted to see if anyone would have any further information or ideas on what this pain that he suffers with might be because nobody else seems to know.

Doctor, my mother aged 75 was diagnosed with glaucoma a few years back. She suddenly developed blood-red left eye and was on eyedrops iotim, iobet, 9pm, atrochlor D, Zoxan D. Betagen, pilocar etc from time to time plus oral tablets like iopar SR. She also used glycerol to bring down the pressure which had jumped to 55 from normal 17 levels. Later she underwent surgery for removal of mature cataract. The result of all this was loss of vision in left eye a few years back. Last July, she developed similar problems in right eye resulting in loss of vision after surgery. She is presently using the same eyedrops on this eye as per doctors advise from time to time, and though there was partial restoration of vision recently, she has now lost vision again. The doctor is hopeful of restoration of vision in this eye to some extent, and has presently prescribed Wisolone 20mg tablets OD. Please let me know what do u think the problem is and how should I proceed now. She is also suffering from chronic bronchitis and uses duolin-inhalex respules through nebulization and mucolite 30 tablets on regular basis. Due to her blindness, she is now on permanent catheter alsoi, as she suffered from UTI infection recently and the doctor has advised usage of catheter permanently. Please let me know how do I proceed with her eye problems now. My e mail address is YYYY@YYYY . Thank You.

I have angioedema, however, the redness, itching and discomfort I have been experiencing for the past week is growing worse and is only located on the outsides of both underarms. I take doxepin for the angioedema. I have been using three new prescription eye drops for cataract pre/post op: 1. Gatifloxacin 2. Lotemax and 3. Prolensa (my next op is 6/30/14 for my right eye). This new condition only began after my first cataract surgery on 6/16/14 and kept me awake most of last night. I am using neosporone on both sites. Thank you for any information you might offer. CW

My mother an 80-year-old, weighs around 58 kg, had some numbness in her right lower extremities. Our PCP checked her BP and it was 190/90. My mother does not have any history of hypertension or diabetes, does not have any chest pain or shortness of breath. No fever or chills. She is very active and involve in all daily routine activities normally. Our PCP suggested to take amlodipine besylate 5 mg once daily. After she took her first dose of 5 mg, she feels little fatigue. Just what I want to know is, whether mild lower-extremity numbness is due to high systolic 190 though diastolic reading is 90. Is it safe to continue with calcium channel blocker or should go to some other medication. What are the risk factors? I will take her to my PCP in 3-4 days and get her BP checked. My mother is purely vegetarian, drinks 2-3 coffee per day, otherwise, normal with vitals and physical. Cataract operation two years back with lens. She does not take any other medications. Please suggest whether she should continue with this medication.
