When Should Cataract Surgery Be Scheduled After Iritis Steroid Treatment?
I have just concluded eyeritis steroid treatment. I am scheduled for cataract surgery in 30 days on the eye not affected with eyeritis. One opthto dr advises to wait 12 months after eyeritis cleared up to have that eye operated on. The surgeon says he has no problem with doing surgery on the eye that recovered from eyeritis in 2 months. Don't need infection from surgery. Your advice?
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you had iritis and you want to go for cataract surgery. Once iritis is cured under the cover of oral steroids you can go for cataract surgery. There is no need to wait for 12 months. Your surgeon is right you can undergo surgery.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope this is helpful to you. Thank you
