When Is A Cortisone Injection Administered?

I just received my cholesterol results. Total Cholesterol 297, LDL 212, HDL 68, Triglycerides 87, Blood Sugar 89. I am a 58 year old female, 5'4" weighing 158. I had my knees injected with cortisone in Sept. and was wondering if this has anything to do with this?

Hello, Thank you for visiting HCM. A cortisone injected in September would not cause your cholesterol to go this high. I imagine your doctor will want to put you on a statin medication. Please follow his advice. Thank you for coming to HCM. I hope I answered your question. Feel free to stop back by if you need further clarification. Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
