Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When i had a smear taken by a nurse she diagnosed me to have a skin tag down there. And said my doc can remove it if i wanted. i went back about month or two later to see about removin it. I seen a locum doc she examined it and said due to where tag is i need a gynecologist to remove it and did the referral. I have since returned to my GP to arrange going private and she examimed it and tells me its a wart. How can this be misdiagnosed? In the meantime i had been seen in coloscopy unit for my smears told id hpv which is why my smears were irregular but yet never commented on what i waa told was a skin tag which was visible.
