When I feed, the milk does not come

I have recently delivered a girl baby around 15 dyas ago. I am breast feeding my child. Some times i feel that the milk is too less. Some times she cries for milk and when i feed the milk does not come. I feel there is no enough of the milk. I take good food daily but still the milk is less. Can any body tell about how to increase the milk secretion

Thanks for the concern

Your diet is directly associated with milk production.

So you need to have a calorie rich diet which should have high fat and protein in it.

foods like dry nuts and fruits,Dry coconut, sweets, ghee, butter, fresh fruits, egg

, green leafy vegetables, full fat milk will help in milk production.

As you are lactating frequency of meals/eating should be increased.

Dont be tensed/stressed this decreases production.
Feed your baby every two hours.

So try these and enjoy your motherhood

Know the ways to breast feed the baby, I read a beautiful article about techniques of breast feeding here itself. I am not sure my baby is happy with my milk but I am at least put at ease, here is the link

since this is your first child you dont know how to feed, milk takes few days to develop and as your baby is suckling, there will be improvement in the production of milk

Do not worry yaar, it is just 15 days you delivered. Be little bonded with the baby. She requires your love and affection and automatically the baby shall be happy iwth the feeds

I have a 15 month old she stopped nursing at 4 months but today I had a small amount of milk(or white substance) come out when my husband sucked on my breasts. Could I be pregnant? I read it could mean cancer. Is that possible? Or could it be still from my last pregnancy?

i was completely breast feeding my child in the first one month. towards the end of the first month my baby girl started crying a lot and her sleep reduced drastically. Many a times she would be in a drowsy state but not go to full sleep. When i took her to the doctor, the doctor found her underweight( birth weight was 3.17 after one month her weight was 3.62 the doctor was expecting something around 4 to 4.2)The Pediatrician asked me to supplement her food with 2 feeds of lactogen. i did the same, but her crankyness and crying surely reduced, but didnot fully go. When i went to my gynac 1 and half month later she also gave me Lactare tablets and a powder to increase milk. i took the same but found no improvement. So slowly i started increasing the number of feeds of lactogen and reducing my feed. My baby was happy, satisfied and sleeping well but of course gaining lot of weight. Now when i left my home town and came back to mumbai and visited a new doctor for my child s vaccination(2 months 10 days) he insists that i should relactate and has given me Maxeron. He also insists to top feed only useing spoon. I am strictly following his instruction but my baby is cranky and crying again. She is satisfied only if the top feed quantity is same as her complete lactogen quantity which i used to give without my feed. Does it mean i have no milk coming? what should i do? feeding the entire quantity with spoon instead of bottle is really painful? need a second opinion? Please guide.

Last year I suddenly began lactating out of both breasts. After many tests, it was decided that it may have been due to a medication. I am 33 and have an 11 yr old, there is no chance I am pregnant. I have always had very light periods. But recently I have been having heavy periods and often every two weeks. I noticed that I am producing colostrum again as well. In 2000, I had a cyst rupture in my left breast and was told I d have to monitor it for cancer. I m not sure what to do but all this scares me.

I have been using implanon for 2 years. I have weighed 110lbs for the past 4 years except when I have been pregnant. Recently I have gained 10-15 lbs my breasts have become enlarged tender and sore, I ve also been extremely tired as well as increased appetite. Tonight I discovered something new I felt a pain in my right breast (the same pain like when I was lactating after my last baby) when I squeezed my nipple a white milky discharge came out. Is it possible I could be pregnant?

Hi Doc, I am 39 years old lady. A month ago I was biten by my husband very badly on my left breast light secretion. There was pain for 2 days now 6 - 7 days back I was feeling uncomfortable so I squeezed my breast to see there was a drop of pus secretion from the same left side. And I also wanted my right breast to see while sqeezing it had a drop of milk secretion. Yesterday I underwent an ultra sound scan of my breasts so the diagnosis was mildly dilated lactiferous duct in right breast.
