my friend just had his leg amputated after a terrible accident at work what do I say to him to help him feel better

You have to give him courage,it was your bad luck,you have to bear it,there is no other alternative.
You be positive and say your precious life is saved.
Now a days handicapped if strong will power do every thing which a normal person can not do.
There is no question about good family and sex life,you can live your life,
Now a day you can drive a car,can do swimming.
All of above you can describe and increase his courage.
