What Will Be The Affect Of Watermelon Abdomen On The Quality Of Life ?

I was just diagnosed with watermelon abdomen. How much will this dx. affect the quality of my life? I am 63 and have had a Cabbage, replacement of aortic and mitral valves. I after the heart dx experienced ischemic bowel. Now I have a pacemaker. I also am taking coumidin therepy.?

Hello,

Coumadin may increase the bleeding tendency of the stomach. Watermelon stomach is usually treated with endoscopic laser surgery or argon plasma coagulation.

Both of these procedures are performed by endoscopy. Endoscopic laser surgery uses laser light to treat bleeding blood vessels, while argon plasma coagulation uses argon gas and electrical current to seal irregular or bleeding tissue.

Treatment of congestion due to heart failure is treated with vasodilator, digoxin and diuretics.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
