What Treatment To Be Taken For The Rashes Formed Followed By Fever?

Hi. My boyfriend has had a fever ranging from 99.5 to 102.7 for the last 4 days with body ache and light sensitivity at times. He has developed a rash (tiny, red bumps that are not raised) along his chest and stomach, and there s also a small cluster of them on his lower back along his spine. They are not itchy, painful or raised. There is no cough, sore throat, swollen glands. The bumps are predominantly on one side of his body.

Hi,

It may be herpes zoster also called shingles. It is a viral infection caused by VZV virus. There may be severe burning. One side rash compromising clusters of vesicular eruptions is characteristic feature of herpes zoster.
Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

Antiviral like acyclovir 800 mg thrice a day for two to three weeks, oral steroid in tapering dose to prevent post herpetic neuralgia, pain killer..etc are considered. Apply cream of silver sulfadiazine.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
