What Treatment Should I Take For My Child Suffering From Abdominal Pain, Loose Bowels With Worms ?
my 8 year old started complaining of stomach;( pain ) day before yesterday; Tonight she had about 7 bowel movements and thought see saw small thread like worms . Moving! I bathe her and change bedding on a weekly basis.... And watch her carefully. I am educated but quite concerned as my aunt said it could be Pin worms. How can i treat this and put my childs mind at ease as well as mine.
As your kid has seen live worm during defecation, indicates worm infestation.
De-worming is required usually with drugs like Albendazole,mebendazole or febendazole. De-worming has to repeated every 6 months as de-worming drugs kill adult worms, they do not kill the eggs.
De-worming should be done to all the family members and continue maintaining good personal hygiene.
Hello;
Thanks for your query.
The stomach and loose motions are due to infection of intestine which is more likely to be due to parasite infection(like amoeba and even worms).
It will be better to consult a doctor and he will advise the necessary treatment for loose motions.Once the motions are controlled your doctor will prescribe medicine for deworming (kill the worms).
It will be a single dose medicine please do not worry your child shall be fine after treatment.
Take care.
