What Treatment Options Are Available For Cystic Changes In Carpel Bone When Having Mild Osteoarthritis?

Hi Doc. I am a chiropractor and I have a patient that has some subchondral cystic changes going on in her first carpal-metacarpal joint at the base of the dorsal aspect of the first metacarpal. With secondary subchondral edema and mild osteoarthritis. What are some other treatment options for this process. She is now chronic.

Nothing to worry.
Show a hand surgeon.local infiltration with depomedrol may help.Glucosamine tab twice a day, and accelofenac 100 mg twice a day after meals for 7 days.
Use wrist support or brace for 2 weeks.
Teray after 3 weeks, if cystic changes increase ,hand surgeon may consider fusion of affected joint
