What Treatment Is Suggested For The Pain And Swelling In Legs After Falling?

Just had a nasty fall on rocks and hurt my leg. I have a slight graze on the shin but the leg has got considerable swelling. I am 71 years of age and very active. what treatment would you suggest. I have the leg elevated with an ice pack is this correct.

You did the right thing. Now, if you are able to walk around which I think you are, then take Ibuprofen and Trypsin/chymotrypsin to reduce pain and swelling along with Ice fomentation and compression bandage.
