What Treatment Is Suggested For Sensorineural Hearing Loss In Left Ear?

I had a sudden sensorineural hearing loss in August last year (2013) in the left ear. I have been treated with steroids and from past nine months, I am on medication. I am taking one capsule of Nervigen + 1 tablet of Clopivas every day. There is slight improvement in hearing but no significant improvements.. Could you please guide me if there is any chance of getting my hearing back....

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sensorineural hearing loss in left ear which could be due to Otosclerosis meniere's disease , autoimmune inner ear disease , very loud noise , acoustic neuroma , physical head injury. Chances of hearing back from left ear after sensorineural hearing loss are very less. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , blood test , examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) , anti inflammatory medications. Doctor can recommend you surgery. You should use hearing aid as that is the best treatment possible.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
