What Treatment Is Suggested For ACL Tear?

i had sex with protection but the next few days i kept taking my birth control pill late and began to spot for the rest of the month while later in that week I tore my ACL and was under lot of stress. I spotted until the day of my pills where i am supposed to have my period and I was clear. is this normal?

ACL is a ligament in the knee. This gets injured in trauma to knee. ACL tear required assessment by MRI scan to know the grade of tear. In partial tears no surgery is usually required if the patient is having a sedentary life style without much physical activities. In case of sportsmen even partial tears requires surgery. If it is a complete tear the the ligament may need to be surgically modified to provide stability to the knee joint.

Regarding the taking of birth control pills, it is important to know if you took emergency pills of low dose contraceptive pills which you have been taking. If you are taking low dose pills then taking you might have slight hormonal imbalances. If emergency pills were taken then you should not take more than one in 2 - 3 months and this contains a high dose of hormones which can alter your cycles for next two months.
