What To Do If Skin Itches And Forms Rash After Sun Exposure?
no change in diet no change in medications, I used plenty of sunscreen we applied four times and did not get a sunburn but spent 12 hours in the sun fishing and realized it one point I was too hot to keep fishing. The following day about 10 hours after being out of the sun I started itching and noticing a rash at breast area where I had received no sun then it spread to my stomach and my back. The only areas that received direct sun was my face, neck, legs and arms. The rash covers practically my whole body and the palms of my hands and feet. I started taking prednisone and Benadryl 24 hours ago. i ve also taken a cold showers with no soap. I can t sleep because it itches and burns so bad. my temp is 97.2, any help or should I go to doc? thank you

I can understand your concern for skin itching as well rashes after sun exposure. I can get form your query that you applied plenty of sunscreen and despite that you got the problem of skin itching as well rashes.
It is quite common to find such kind of findings after excessive sun exposure. You can get that you spent almost 12 hours in sun so it is quite obvious that you could get such kind of rashes.
In my patients I suggest them to avoid sun exposure and do cold compression over the affected area. A mild steroid lotion such as cortisone and calamine lotion can be applied over the affected area for few days. In case of itching an antihistamine like cetrizine can be taken for two times.
