Hello

You should see an ENT to see the larynx from inside. It is not related to thyroid surgery you did several years ago.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mirjeta Guni, Endocrinologist

Over the last few weeks, I have lost my voice twice and have had breathing/chest problems, throat and ear infection and severe pain. i have felt unwell for 3-4 weeks. currently I feel extremely tired, burning eyes, itchy scalp and face, a bit of a rash on my hands. When I get up and go about my business, after a while i feel nasaeueous, with a strange taste in my mouth - I feel exhausted and have to rest for 1-2 hours. I have had 2 antibiotics (amoxyicillan 250 and clarithmaritin. I thought i might be having an allegeric reaction to the antibiotics which was making me feel so unwell - but I finished the second one last sunday - so it should be out of my system by now. I just cannot shake it or get feeling better - I am beginning to think it is throid or something else because although I am up and about to an extent, I am so weak and generally feel unwell

2 1/2 yrs ago I had a thyroid biopsy and was told the 1.4cm nodule on the isthmus was ok, nothing to worry about. This month I had a ct scan which showed the nodule is now 2.7 cm. I am to have another biopsy this week. I just found out that the 1st biopsy results were inconclusive as not enough tissue was taken. I want to know if 2.7cm is considered large for a isthmus nodule. Also if this is making my SOB, fatigue, difficulty swallowing, voice change worse. Thank you!

Hi, my name is Rebecca! I am a 38 year old female who has been having some recent health challenges. My main complaint is that for the past year my throat has felt uncomfortable when swallowing (not overly painful), and my voice has gotten hoarse. This has been devastating to me, because I used to be a singer in my spare time most of my life. I have been noticing it getting worse over the past six months. Now I am feeling like any foods or vitamins I eat, don t go down all of the way, or takes a long time to go down. When I swallow, it is a constant uncomfortable feeling. I have had severe acid reflux when I was pregnant, and know what the reflux feels like in your throat and I am not feeling that sensation. However, I seem to be in a constant need to burp. I burp frequently, but sometimes I feel like a have to force myself to (if that makes any sense). Sometimes I have chest pain as well. When taking antacids it helps a little, but not entirely. Also, sometimes it feels like my glands move in my neck and gets stuck. It s painful when this happens. I have just experiencing this just for a couple months and it is not frequent. My whole life I have never had that happen. I had my thyroid checked in April and the said the levels were in normal range, but they did detect some small nodules on my thyroid. They encouraged me to not be concerned. Thyroid does run in my family. My grandmother ended up having hers removed entirely. I am not sure specifics though. Also, I have been losing a lot of hair and extremely fatigued. My joints and muscles ache constantly, I wake up in the morning to stiff fingers. This let s up during the day, but my hands and feet always hurt and sometimes tingle and burn. Not really sure what is going on, but after two years of these symptoms I am getting concerned and desparetly needing answers. Please help me.
