Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What To Do If Having Stomach Discomfort, Loose Motions After Taking Jalra M Tablet?
my wife is 57 years old and around 80 kgs weight. She has been diagnosed with Diabetes. She was put on Glycomed for ten days. Her Blood sugar dropped from 276 to 180. The doctor has now prescribed Jalra m. She has two tablets- one in the night and another in the morning. She is having stomach discomfort and loose motions. What should she do?
Jalra is an anti diabetic medication. These medications can cause diarrhea as a side effect. So, the stomach discomfort and loose motion are probably due to these medications. I recommend using an over the counter option to treat the diarrhea such as Imodium. I also recommend to use daily probiotics. The symptoms will probably relieve gradually as the system get used to the treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
