What To Do For The Bumps On The Tailbone Area?

A week ago I noticed red bumps on my tailbone area right above, but not in, my butt crack. The did not itch, or burn, but were inflamed like hives or bug bites almost. I thought they would heal on their own but didn t. I started treating with Benadryl cream 3 days ago and no sign of healing. Any idea on what this is or what a cure may be?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having irritant dermatitis on tail bone.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
