What To Do For The Bleeding After Fixing Iud?
i had an iud inserted 2 mths ago , been bleeding off and on ever since. but with the 2 periods i have had i have had bllod clots.i have been bleeding now heavily for 5 days meaning 3tampons plus 3 super kotex each day,along with big blood clots. is this normal?

Hi,
Following hormonal IUD insertion symptoms like:
- Cramping with on and off bleeding / spotting
- Pelvic pain and back pain
- Headache / migraine etc are reported. These symptoms will settle within 6 months of IUD insertion. I advise you to:
- Take a course of DMPA or cyclic progestins and oral estrogens as per your doctor guidance, till the spotting stops
- Do USG pelvis to look for any any pathology
