HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

One of the most common causes for pain related to the sternum is costochondritis. This is inflammation occur where the ribs meet the sternum.

It can cause severe pain in some persons, the pain is worse on palpation of the sternum.

It is relieved by rest and the use of anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam.

It would be best to avoid heavy lifting during this time.

I hope this helps
