What To Do For Intestinal Pain, Bloating And Diarrhea?

im looking for a second opinion. im 49, and weigh 260lbs.i went to my family doctor for aproblem with intestinal pain, bloating, and diarrhea. when i was weighed in i was astonished that i have lost 12 lbs. since february. when i explained my symptoms to my dr. he took a sample of my blood and said my blood looked normal 'just a little anemic' he said. in his opinion he says he thinks its some kind of infection. heprescribed two medications they are ciprofloxacn 500mg. andmetronidazol 500 mg. and told me to take all of it as prescribed and it should clear itup and if that it didn't help that i should probably schedule an appointment with a gastroentologist. i've taken all of the meds and i felt really good after the first time i had taken my first dose but it was like my body was in a tugawar or like a rollercoaster. inow seem like im relapsing back to square one, and i'm inquiring about what your opinion is and what you think i should do i'm starting to get alittle worried. sincerely a. daniel

Hello,

Considering this as intestine infection, primary relief with GI specific antibiotics will be there. When there is something other than simple infection, it shows weight loss, recurrence of same symptoms once the antibiotic is stopped (as happens in case of inflammatory bowel disease or else). In our clinic, we recommend colonoscopy for this case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
