Hi, My Mother is 61 years old,height: 5.5, weight : 78kgs, she is suffering from Interstitial lung disease (ILD).
She has been hospitalized every month since 3 mths ..for abt 1-15 days for treatment as she goes breathless, has chronic bronchitis, gets pneumonia very often, fever - shivering and throat infection, she is on steroids since Nov 2010, now her medicine contains :
IVpret 10:1-1-1 , lassix dytor 1-1-0 n nebuliser inhaling 1-0-1and many more tablets .
We have Oxygen machine at home and keep it connected all the time.
She has become very weak, cant walk even 4 steps, feet n face puffed up, palms are always black n blue in color, has pain on right side of heart at times, cough causing pain in lung and throat, pains while swallowing, mouth has got small blisters n cant eat food..
History : medical profession, got respiratory infection was operated for lobectomy of lung and 1 lobe was removed in 1976.she was cured for short time TB in 1998. Aftr this she did get pneumonia at times but aftr her 50's she was hospitalized atleast once a year for treatment, her veins are very thin so the medicine goes out , Today we have a person do some study for 4-5 hrs on her for ventilator( an mobile like instrument is tied to her chest for taking O2 count and so) sputum report is -ve, lung condition is very critical as fibrosis spread, what can be done further for a normal life, is it possible??
