I think I have hypothyriodism - but my nurse called to tell me that my free T4 levels came back high and that they wanted to retest. Does a high result mean I actually have hyperthyriodism? I was menstrating when I was tested - could this have effected my Free T4 levels?
Hi T4 levels aren't affected whether you are menstruating or not. High T4 suggests either you are hyperthyroid or you are taking thyroxine exogenously. Thank you for contacting healthcare magic.
