What Should The Ideal Result On Thyroid Peroxidase Test Be?
I was given a thyroid peroxidase test by my general practioner in April 2011, the result came back 65.5. He said this was positive for Hashimoto's so he sent me to an Endocrinologist who stated this was not a positive for Hashimoto's. Who is correct?

Normally this anti tpo antibody value should be at least less than 35 IU/ml according to few study ...
You have not mentioned unit of value ....
For hashimotos thyroiditis also investigate with antithyroid globulin which can be positive in hashimotos if present ...
If still doubt than FNAC can be useful for rule out hashimotis along with clinical history and examination.....

If tsh high and t4 low than for hypothyroidism treatment should be started ....
Advise : consult endocrinologist and discuss your case
